A House Is Not a Home

Without two cats! Meet two of our 4 furry kids:

Jack is a three year old male tabby with huge yellow eyes. He enjoys stalking bugs, dust bunnies, and hanging out in empty boxes. His favorite thing to do is curl up with me for an afternoon nap, or torment his sister, Cleo. He's a light eater (probably because Cleo steals his food), and he isn't allowed to enjoy the outdoors, although he has on occasion managed to escape from the house. Currently, due to his recent escape, he has been restricted from looking out windows. Thus his love of the warm comfy dryer in the laundry room. :) Jack greets me at the door each day when I return home from work, and he sits on my lap, desk, scrapbook table, newspaper ... anywhere he can be close to me. At night we watch t.v. together and most of the time he sleeps next to me. Trever definitely feels there is some competition between he and Jack.

This is Miss Cleo. She is four years old. We haven't figured out her full heritage, but we know she is part Maine Coon ... on a smaller scale. Cleo is a little prissy and has a slight eating disorder. The disorder being she loves to eat. If Jack doesn't eat fast enough she moves in on his dish and finishes up for him. "You didn't want that, right?!" she says in her sweetest meowy voice. I'm pretty sure she bats her eyelashes as well. Most of the time Cleo can be found in the kitchen beneath my feet. If she's not tripping me or trying to finagle food from me, she is curled up somewhere sleeping. She prefers to CHOOSE when to be held rather than being picked up, and only THEN is she cuddly. Oh, she loves my hair. When she was a kitten she would curl up on my pillow, in my hair, and knead my head. That has carried over into her adulthood ... but it isn't nearly as cute anymore. Shhhh, don't tell her I told you. :)
