:37 Weeks & Counting

had my dr.'s appointment today. i'm doing great - blood pressure is normal, sonly some slight swelling in my legs and feet, although the joints in my fingers are killing me each morning. baby t is doing fine as well. seems as though i've been measuring about the same for a couple of weeks now, so next week they're going to do another ultrasound. the doctor wants some idea of his position, etc. i asked if this is something i need to worry about, but she says not. at this point tristen weighs approx. 6.5 lbs. and boy is he moving around. at church he seems to enjoy the worship part of the service. i feel as if he is dancing a jig in my stomach the way it moves around when the sax player plays a tune. i still haven't gotten used to this feeling, but i think that once i'm back to my normal self, after tristen is born, it will be a feeling i never forget. there is definitely something amazing about growing a little person. so many things actually have to happen for this miracle of life to occur - it is crazy!!

got lots of stuff done around the house this past weekend and was spurred into action by my organizational guru, Jennifer. she helped me organize all the baby stuff. installed my car seat. helped me set up a changing station (just need a changing pad now!!) and brought over lunch. we had a really good visit and managed to disassemble the diaper cake/tree my mom gave me for a shower gift. i feel so blessed to have someone like jennifer in my life - i have a feeling we'll be bonding over kid stuff for a long time. she is pregnant with her second child and is due in April. she's rooting for a girl, but like everyone she just wants the baby to be healthy. i can't wait to spoil her the way she has spoiled me. :)

trevor is working hard both at home and the railroad. he has worked two 12 hour shifts this week and i doubt he'll get to participate in thanksgiving this year. we normally go to my parents for turkey day and he hunts in the morning and we all eat dinner around 3 or 4 p.m. this year he'll probably get called in to work before we have a chance to eat.

speaking of turkey day - this year is special because my sis and her family are in town. i haven't seen them since they moved to Texas almost 2 years ago. yikes!!! my mom and dad have been to TX a couple of times, but i haven't had the opportunity to go visit. maybe when things get back to some semblence of normal. ha! anyway, it turns out we're going to have over 25 people at my parent's house for dinner this year. my dad's brother and sister and their families will be there, my brother and sister, me and a couple of elderly gentlemen we've invited to join us for a number of years. so, it sounds like we're going to have a full and chaotic day of festivities. that ought to keep anyone from picking a fight. :)

well, thats about it. i'm so tired tonight - it is slightly past 8:30 and i'm preparing to go to bed. happy monday everyone. check back next week after we go for our sonogram. i'll have trevor update the blog if anything unexpected happens before the actual due date of 12/10. everyone seems to think its going to happen sooner. stay tuned. :)
