2 months 4 weeks ...

That is how old babycenter.com says Tristen is today. He is so cute and sweet. He's loving staying with Jennifer and Grant during the day and they feel the same about him. Tristen has been introduced to Baby Einstein, which is normally on tv when we arrive at Jennifer's house in the mornings. I'm learning the songs and he likes the colors and shapes. Barney is another favorite he loves to watch. And when I say he watches tv, I am serious. He stares at the big screen and smiles and laughs, never taking his eyes from the screen. Grant loves these shows as well and dances a different dance to each song. It is hilarious. He has his rap dance, his boogy dance and then the sway to the music dance. Each morning when we arrive at their house, if Grant is up, he'll come over to where I set Tristen's carrier, pull off the blanket and peer into the carrier to make sure Tristen is in there. Sometimes he takes the little green blanket Tristen loves so much, other times he attempts to pull out Tristen's paci. Jennifer says that on the weekends when Tristen isn't there, Grant will wake up and point down the hall toward the living room and say "ta ta" (Tristen)? I can't wait until Tristen can actually play with Grant instead of just giving him a gummy smile.

On Sunday we went to my parent's church with Chris, Jennifer and Grant. Afterward we went to my parent's house for dinner. It was a nice afternoon, albeit cold and dreary outside. The church service was really good and it was fun to spend the day with friends. Grant was taken by surprise by my parent's dogs and wasn't real thrilled with them at first. After a while he was bossing them around like they were old friends.

Jennifer made it out to see us at work last week and again today. I am totally impressed with her! She is the proud owner of a double stroller and it is the cadillac of double strollers! It is a "Jeep" brand stroller with one seat in front for a toddler and another seat/carrier holder in back. Tristen gets to ride in the back and poor Grant is stuck up front to brave the elements. He's a trooper though. Pushing that thing is like driving a train - I've had the pleasure of giving it a test drive. Anyway, she's actually made it to our office twice, on time, and eat lunch with us. It has been great. As soon as I get a picture of this stroller I'll post it here for all to see. Once baby Ben comes along we'll have to figure out another option. My idea is for her to strap Tristen into the Baby Bjorn, and put Ben and Grant in the stroller ... and come out for lunch with us! That wouldn't be hard, would it? ;)

On Friday I took Tristen for his first official photo shoot for Easter. Hopefully the pictures will turn out cute - it was hard work keeping him smiling!

Some new things Tristen is doing: He loves his hands. He loves to look at them, talk to them, eat them, suck on them, and wave them around. He is also learning to kick and his arms and legs are constantly moving ... unless he's asleep. He smiles, coos and makes this high pitched shrieking noise that makes him jump. He's really enjoying the bath hammock and we've been leaving him in the tub longer to play and kick and splash in the water. He loves it. It is also a great way to get him relaxed in the evenings before bedtime. He's sleeping from about 10:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., which is GREAT for us. He gets up around 7:30 and is quite the morning person. He grins for me as I change his diaper and get him ready for the day. He hates having lotion put on his stomach/chest, arms and face, but he loves having it rubbed onto his legs and feet. Its a good thing his little feet are so cute!

Here is a picture from Sunday - all decked out in his church clothes. He wore shoes for the first time this past Sunday and he looked really cute. Very grown up!
