He Makes Me Proud

Trevor received his promotion yesterday! He passed the written test without any errors - my honey made an A! :) He also did a great job on the "ridearound" test." This entailed Trevor riding around with the Supervisor who asked Trevor random questions to see how well he knows the rail yard and tracks, etc. He aced both the tests and is now a full time railroad employee. Now begins his grueling "on call" schedule. He has already been called in twice - last night for the midnight shift and today for the second shift. I know this is going to be a tough schedule but it is also something we were expecting. It is a schedule we need to get back on track (no pun intended), and I know all of this hard work will pay off. I'm just so darn proud of him for all his efforts and for sticking it out when it felt like everything was falling apart around us.

It was a year ago in October that we were both laid off from our jobs and entered a very uncertain time of our lives. Over the year, Trevor did odd jobs to earn money, painted houses, and helped numerous family and friends whenever they needed help. He was a blessing to so many people when he was at one of the lowest points of his life. It has been tough in so many different ways - but finally we're seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you Trev for keepng the faith, never giving up, and for being such a hard working husband.
