ONE *1* Month Update

Our challenge is to find a routine that works for us so that we can all get some much needed rest. Today we were blessed with some family time and Trevor and I got to share Tristen duty.

Today was Tristen's 1 month dr.'s appt. with his pediatrician. Even though the wait was long, we were very impressed with our choice in a pediatrician. She is a nurse practitioner, but she was highly recommended by my friend Jennifer (who will be babysitting for Tristen starting in February). Tristen is 9 lbs. and 6 ounces, he measured 21 inches long, but since that was his length at birth we feel the nurse mismeasured. We can tell he's longer. Anyway, he is right on track with all measurements around the 50 percentile. He was also given his second Hep B shot in the leg and he was NOT at all pleased. Yes, mommy cried. I think Trevor even felt bad for the poor lad. Otherwise, Tristen did really well and his mom and dad are relieved to know he is thriving in our household. No major mistakes yet. :)

So, Tristen's routine this evening started with a bottle for dinner around 8:30 p.m. and a nice warm bath at 9:00. We dressed him in warm pajamas, dimmed the lights and began the process of lulling him to sleep - he loves laying on his stomach on our legs and having us pat him on the back. Once he fell asleep I took him upstairs and put him in his bed - hopefully he'll sleep as well as he did last night.

Here are a couple of pictures from tonight - feeding time and fresh from the bath.

Cute cute cute...hard to believe it's been a month already! Don't fret too much about the measuring...it's a miracle they can even get a measurement on the babies by laying the child on the exam room tissue paper - trying to stretch 'em out while they are fussy and then make marks with a pencil, then measuring the distance with the marks. Sounds like everything is clicking into place....keep up the good work - you are doing great :)
