Anyway, the weather has been absolutely beautiful this weekend and I had a long weekend thanks to my hunny. He had a doctor's appt. that I went to with him and we enjoyed the rest of the day just hanging out. Tristen went to Jennifer's for the afternoon - it was so strange without him home with us! The doctor's appt. went well (for those of you who have called and asked how he's doing) and he's almost back to his normal self again. :) He hasn't had to use any pain medication and he's been feeling really good. So much for the horror stories he'd heard. I'm glad he's feeling good and that we've had this weekend to spend together. It has been really nice.
Friday was Tristen's first day to wear shorts. He looked absolutely adorable (but so old!) and he wore pajamas without any feet in them that night. He is growing so quickly.
Lets see, here are a few highlights of our 3 month 4 week old baby boy (thank you babycenter.com for keeping me updated on Tristen's age ...)
He smiles when he sees me, Trevor, Jennifer and Grant
He talks to us while we're getting him dressed in the morning
He makes funny spitting noises when he doesn't want his bottle or paci
He has started throwing at least ONE temper tantrum per day just because ... there is no specific reason for the tantrums, he just gets mad
He is eating about 6-7 ounces per feeding plus an ounce or so of prune juice
He sleeps through the night (10:00 to about 5:00 or 6:00 a.m.)
He still loves his baths
He makes funny poop faces still, but the pooping is getting easier for him. :)
He and Daddy bond while getting ready to go spend the day with Jennifer and Grant
He loves flying like a plane over Trevor's head, he can finally hold his head up and his legs stick out straight behind him.
He's chewing on his hands, blankets, bibs, bottles, pacis, whatever he can find and he leaves his tell tale drool marks on everything
He has graduated from the small paci to the middle sized one
He has switched from the 4 oz Dr. Brown bottles to 6 and 8 oz vent air bottles
He's quickly outgrowing his 0-3 month clothes and moving up into 3-6 months clothing - and his feet are in 6-12 months socks!! Crazy kid has his dad's feet
He loves Grant and Jennifer - he is at home in their house as he is in his own.
There are so many little things about him that are changing, but it would take forever for me to go over them. Suffice it to say he still seems to change before our eyes daily. He's getting big (weight) and his legs are long. He doesn't fit on our laps like he used to, which makes me a little sad. I love everything about him, and I love to see him developing normally, but it just goes so fast.
There isn't much else going on. We took another trip down to NC today to help Trevor's brother at their parent's house. We were happy to visit with Monica this time and we spent a nice afternoon with everyone. Trevor's mom seems to be doing better, although we think she's doing too much too soon. His dad is back home and things are returning to normal.
Tristen returns to the doctor for his 4 month check up on April 6th. My dad and Jennifer's birthday.
Jennifer's due date is looming on the horizon. She's both anxious and ready to have it over with. We are looking forward to meeting baby Benjamin - but will be sad not to see Jennifer every day. I've gotten used to my early morning visits with her over a cup of coffee!
Here are a few recent pictures. Check out the sleeping position in the last one!
