Well, our house is officially on the market. To make a very long story (about 8 months of a story) short, we have decided we can no longer afford our home, and we want something that requires less upkeep. Don't get me wrong, some upkeep is fine, but with an old house and 16 plus acres, the upkeep is overwhelming. We love our house, but in the end we've decided it is too much for us right now. So, it is on the market and we're hoping someone will fall in love with it and see its potential, like we did, and swoop in to buy it. We're praying that is what happens. It is a sweet place, but with the market being as rocky as it is right now, we're not wearing rose colored glasses. The reality is that it will take a unique buyer who sees the potential in the house, but is probably more interested in the land. Not many places in this part of Roanoke County come w/ over 16 acres of land.
So, join us in prayer as we put our faith in the Lord and place this in His hands!
In other news...
Tristen is having so much fun in daycare. He walks into his classroom by himself, doesn't cry or whine. He goes right to his teacher and she greets him with a smile and all the kids say "Good Morning Tristen!" He's taking good naps, even though he's on a cot instead of in a crib, and he plays hard all day. He's learning songs (itsy bitsy spider, this old man ,...) and he brings home some type of craft every day. They have outside play time and if the classes are small enough they combine them and he gets to play on the big swingset, which he dearly loves. When I pick him up in the evening he is always playing with a toy and greets me with a smile and a kiss. It is great! I can't tell you what a relief it is to have him in such a happy and healthy environment. I was worried about placing him in daycare, but God definitely took care of us in that department. We couldn't ask for a better place.
His recent favorite foods are berries of all kinds. Our friend (and Tman's girlfriend since he was old enough to know blondes are HOT!)Ginger bought him some blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries just before Memorial Day weekend. He has pretty much eaten all of the blueberries, most of the strawberries and most of the blackberries. After munching on a sour raspberry he quit eating them. He also ate 3 boneless ribs on his own the other night! Trevor was enjoying his rib dinner and Tristen managed to eat most of one of Trev's ribs, so I decided to warm one up for T. Well, he lit into that thing like there was no tomorrow. Needless to say, he takes after his daddy in the meat department. He's a carnivore ... I lean toward veggies and chicken myself. Anyway, the picture above is from this past weekend - Tristen's favorite way of eating strawberries.
Work is going really well for us. Trevor is able to get lots of hours in during the summer, so he's trying to take advantage of that. It is tiring, but hopefully it will pay off down the road. I love my job, of course, and enjoy the firm and the attorneys I work for. I'm in a bit of a transition right now, learning the job of a friend who recently left, so it is challenging me to become more organized and find ways to cram even more work into an already full day. I'm content though, and that's what counts. Right? :)
That about sums up our lives for now. I think we agree that these past few weeks have been so insanely busy, that we are perfectly fine with the highlight of our week being Tristen's eating habits. Will post more pictures of Tristen soon - until then, have a great week. :)
Love,
Trevor, Heather and Tman

Will be praying for God to send the right buyer to your house. Are you going to be looking for something closer to town?
