What flies but doesn't have wings?

TIME!!! Riddle courtesy of my niece from YEARS ago.

Lots going on this summer, waaaayyy too much for me to go into great detail about in this post. So, here are the highlights:

1. We lost our oldest Rottie, Sam, to cancer. It was so sudden and unexpected. We were heartbroken, especially since our youngest Rottie, Baron, died about 2 months earlier. Nuff said about that.

2. We moved to a new house, still in the Roanoke area, but further out. Nice place, nice yard, less work and all on one level. Loving the one level life ... missing our old farmhouse, but not the work involved w/ keeping it looking good. This is a nice change and something that has been in the works for quite some time.

3. While mourning for Sam, we decided it was way too quiet without a dog. Started doing some research and decided that, yes, we did want another dog. But, we wouldn't go with a Rottie because of the stinking homeowner's insurance being so high (Rotts are considered high risk), so we went with a breed we've both always loved. A boxer. We adopted a 12 week old fawn and named him Scout. The dog is WILD! We're enjoying him, but he's definitely like having another toddler around! We miss Sam and Baron so much, but Scout is a cutie and gives us something to focus on besides our loss. He and Tristen get along pretty well ... when they're not fighting over pacies and blankies ... Scout thinks he's a toddler too!

Well, that's about it for now. Hope this summer finds all of our friends and loved ones doing well. A special congratulations to Jed and Jaime ... they're expecting baby number 2!

Love,
The Beyers
